Ford Type 9 Gearboxes----5 Speed

We can supply these gearboxes reconditioned to a very high standard. They are not to be compared to some cheaper boxes that are available. on their on own or as a complete unit.

Fifth gear on the type 9 gearboxes is an overdrive ratio allowing a significant reduction in engine revs. Kit cars in particular benefit because there is no reduction in acceleration in the lower gears, whilst retaining the advantages of an overdrive fifth gear.

As the type 9 Gearbox has a larger input shaft you it requires a different drive plate when fitting to a Crossflow or CVH Engine.
On the Crossflow Engine you can use the type 9 release bearing straight on to the crossflow clutch. However on the CVH engine you will require a purpose made release bearing.
