modified.  Our opinio n at Vulcan is that none of the former options are satisfactory for a performance engine.  As we see it, you probably
have a nice car with hopefully a good engine and the chances are that you are not intending to sell it, so why compromise?
If you purchase one of our lead free heads you will never have to worry about which fuel to use and you will save yourself money. If it were as simple as fitting some sort of inline device to allow normal engines to run on lead free fuel the car manufactures would have
installed them.  However, every single car manufacturer in the world converted their engines by fitting hardened valve seats.
‘LRP’ fuel is not suitable, even the Makers State that in some cases your vehicle need to have the engine modified.  See below a n extract from
the UK Petroleum Industry Association leaflet.  Where they state ‘if you often use your car for prolonged, heavy motorway driving or
towing’ what that means if you work your engine.  Now the reason you are actually reading this is because you probably have a high
performance engine that you drive hard and rev etc.  The very things that LRP is not suitable for.
They State: “In a very few cases, for example if you often use your car for prolonged heavy motorway driving or for towing, you migh t find that you need to have your engine modified.  Thos involves having hardened valve seats fitted and the cost varies according to what type of car you have.” They were also failed to mention that depending on the type of engine you would also have t o change the type of exhaust valve. Additives  are very expensive and also very inconvenient.  The cost on average is an extra 30 to 50p per gallon!  Out of the existing range
the AA and other organisations have approved only three.  Also you cannot mix th e type of additive you use.  So whichever one you start
with you will have to use forever!
Can you imagine how inconvenient that is going to be? You will have to ensure that you have the correct additive, every single occasion you
use your car!  That’s before you start dispensing the stuff.
That supposes you’ve remembered to buy some!  The bottom line to all this is, get it wrong and you have a very serious problem!
